Pretty Butterflies

I am continually amazed at the beauty of God's creation. Butterflies are a favorite of mine. They are so light, come in a rainbow of beautiful colors, and I get a sense of softness and gentleness from them. To me they are peace, grace and love.

Today's card is a butterfly extravaganza! Wow, that sounds impressive. :)
The Splitcoast color challenge this week was to use tempting turquoise, baja breeze, apricot appeal, and creamy caramel. I have to admit I was not too sure about this combination to start with but now I love it. The base and butterflies are tempting turquoise, the scalloped circles are baja breeze, the plain circles are apricot appeal and the pierced layer is the closest I good get to creamy caramel. (note to self; order creamy caramel). My daughter Yvonne, diamondangelfish, on Splitcoast, introduced me to the Ornare piercing templates so I just had to use one on this card. And it fit perfectly between the circles. The butterflies are all made using the Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Each butterfly is brushed with diamond stickles and clear rhinestones added to the body. Opal pearl drops have been dotted on the scalloped circle edges. Tiny blue rhinestones are added to the center dot of each piercing. I love the sparkle and simplicity of this card. Now for the ingredients.
